By the block up of the play Rita having a understanding trained to think, has developed a sureness that enables her to make her own decisions. How removed do you think that abrupt was merely responsible for this development.By the end of the play Rita having a mind trained to think, hasdeveloped a pledge that enables her to make her own decisions. Howfar do you think that Frank was solely responsible for thisdevelopment, or do you think that Frank was simply the key that open up Ritas mindIn Educating Rita, the audience sees the wilful struggle of a workclass womans thirst to be educated .A literature professor takes onthe challenge, because she is like a breath of fresh airwith atotally uncluttered mind. He teaches her many things as well asinstils in her the self confidence to relate to almost anyone.However as she learns and grows, she not only becomes influenced byothers, she loses that part of herself that makes her unique andindividual which makes her like all the rest. Our first impressions of Frank and Rita are that they appear to becomplete opposites. They come from two contrast social backgroundsFrank is a well educated man of diaphragm upper class. Rita is anuneducated working- class girl. Their jobs go from one intellectual perfect to the other. Frank being a university professor while Ritaworks as a hairdresser.Rita is discontented with her present keep, she feels incomplete, likeshes missed out on something. She feels that the so-called workingclass culture she was brought up in is hollow and meaningless. Ritais determine to get the education she never got, to raise thestandards of funding, and also to raise her from her extract of ignoranceto one of intellectual and social confidence. She looks down onherself and the culture she belongs to, simply is optimistic that she johnlearn her mien into a better way of life. She believes that freedomwill come with education therefore Frank can give her this freedom byeducating her.Frank is also unhappy with his existence. He has everything Rita emergencysfrom life but wishes he didnt. He turns to drink to make living inthe culture he hates more bearable. He doesnt want Rita to lovethe same thing, which is why he doesnt want to teach her. He doesntwant to be the one to take away her simple, down-to-earth way of lifeand replace it with the kind of life he has. In my opinion this showsthat Ritas mark played a greater deal in the development of
